Merola Opera Program Announces Virtual Holiday Concert

Merola Opera Program will continue its virtual recital series with “Merola’s Home for the Holidays” on Dec. 12, 2021.

The performance will star soprano Amber R. Monroe, tenor Edward Graves, and bass Kevin Thompson. The trio will be accompanied by pianist James Harp as they perform works by such composers as Boito, Donizetti, Händel, Lehár, Puccini, Strauss, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Margaret Bonds, and many more.

Monroe has performed with such organizations as the Opera Western Reserve, Kentucky Opera, El Paso Opera, and Cleveland Opera Theater. Meanwhile Graves has starred with usch companies as LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra, Minot Chamber Chorale, and Michigan Opera Theater where he was 2019-20 studio artists. Finally, Thompson will perform alongside San Antonio Opera, Nashville Opera, Tulsa Opera, Roanoke Opera, and the Florida Orchestra throughout the 2021-22 season.

Audiences will be able to stream the virtual recital until Jan. 1, 2022.
