Opera Naples has announced its casting for its final production of the 2019-20 season.

The company has revealed that Norwegian conductor Rune Bergmann will lead Mozart and Da Ponte’s “Don Giovanni” on April 29 and 30, 2002 at the Artis-Naples Center.

In the title role, audiences will hear Xiaomeng Zhang. David Crawford will appear as Leporello with Melinda Whittington as Donna Anna. Melody Moore will take on the role of Donna Elvira, with Ricardo Lugo as the Commendatore and Stephen Carrol as Don Ottavio. Rounding out the cast will be Gertchen Pille as Zerlina and Cameron Jackson as Masetto.

The production will be directed by Dan Wallace Miller.

“The cast is a great combination of seasoned professionals and exciting new talents,” Rámon Tebar, Opera Naples Artistic Director, said in a press statement . “We are excited to welcome this group of exceptional artists to prepare this very exceptional opera for the Opera Naples audience.”
