Opera stars Megan Marino and Michael Mayes have launched Creede Musical Arts Collective, which will have its inaugural season in 2022.

The festival was founded by the duo following their 2021 residency with the Midnight Cricket Club at the Creede Hotel & Restaurant.

“The Musical Arts Collective is a great opportunity to attract high-caliber artists from all over the country to further enrich the Arts community here in Creede. This is a great catalyst to contribute to the well-respected Arts community that has been going strong here, with organizations, like the Creede Repertory Theater, for over 55 years! This population knows and appreciates the Fine Arts – it’s a real gem in the remote mountains of Colorado. What a fun playground for exactly this initiative,” said John Arp, a former actor at Creede Repertory Theater, turned Executive Chef & General Manager at the Creede Hotel & Restaurant, of the new project in an official press statement.

The festival will take place over two weekends (August 12 – 14 and Sept. 2 – 4). But, before that, there will be a Fundraising Soiree showcasing the talents of tenor Jack Swanson and pianist Steven Aguiló-Arbues.

Performance Date: July 15, 2022

Soprano Alexandra Lobianco, tenor Jonathan Burton, and pianist Jeremy Reger will headline the opening weekend with four different programs, including one dedicated to the music of Puccini.

Performance Date: August 12 – 14, 2022

The second weekend will feature Mayes and Marino as well as pianist John Arida, harpist Grace Browning, soprano Sara Gartland, singer / songwriter / instrumentalist KC Groves, and cellist Benjamin Krug

Performance Date: Sept. 2 – 4, 2022
