Medici.tv is set to present Verdi’s “La Traviata” from the Opéra de Paris.

The livestream is set to be presented on Sept. 28, 2019 and will feature the new production by Simon Stone starring Pretty Yende in her role debut as Violetta and tenor Benjamin Bernheim. The cast is rounded out by Ludovic Tézier as Giorgio Germont and conducted by Michele Mariotti.

Critics have raved about the new production stating that Simon Stone’s modern take works well between “the real and virtual worlds both in terms of rhythm and consistency with the libretto.” 

Yende also received raves for her portrayal and for her dazzling “Sempre Libera.”

“La Traviata” continues performances through Oct. 16 with Zuzana Marková singing the title role and Atalla Ayan as Alfredo taking over in October. Jean‑François Lapointe rounds out the second cast as Germont.
