Mécénat Musica Prix 3 Femmes Announces Winners for 2020-21

The 2020-21 winners for the Mécénat Musica Prix 3 Femmes was announced on Monday, April 6, 2020.

The three winners include composer Anna Pidgorna and librettist Maria Reva; composer Parisa Sabet and librettist Nika Khanjani; and composer Sonia Paço-Rocchia and librettist Marie-Ève Bouchard.

The three teams will each get an opportunity to stage new operas in 2021 in a co-production with  Opera 5, Montreal’s Opera McGill, Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), and Kingston’s Queen’s University Dan School of Music.

The awards will be presented on Sept. 16, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Mécénat Musica Gala.

The Mécénat Musica Prix 3 Femmes is a biennial award that supports emerging composers and librettist of new work and provides them with an opportunity to work under industry professionals to bring their visions to realization.
