Measha Brueggergosman-Lee to Present ‘Zombie Blizzard’ at National Sawdust

Soprano Measha Brueggergosman-Lee is set to headline Aaron Davis’ “Zombie Blizzard” at the National Sawdust in Brooklyn on Oct. 28, 2024.

The soprano will be joined by the composer himself, who will accompany her during the performance.

“Zombie Blizzard” is described as “a song cycle written by Aaron Davis of seven concert arias for voice, jazz trio and brass ensemble, based on Margaret Atwood’s 2020 book of poetry, ‘Dearly.'”

Brueggergosman-Lee is the artist-in-residence for Opera Atelier and has also collaborated with such organizations as Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center in New York City, Washington’s Kennedy Center and London’s Wigmore Hall, among others.  She also received Canada’s 2024 Governor General’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music.

Davis is the founder of the band Manteca and also founded the Holly Cole Trio. He has scored over 120 movies.
