Matthias Goerne, Renée Fleming, Jonathan Tetelman, Camilla Nylund & Tomasz Konieczny Lead National Symphony Orchestra’s 2025-26 Season

The National Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2025-26 season. Here is a look at the vocal performances.

Matthias Goerne and Daniil Trifonov lead Schubert’s “Winterreise.”

Performance Date: Oct. 21, 2025

Gianandrea Noseda teams up with Camilla Nylund and Tomasz Konieczny for Alexander Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony, Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 10 – Adagio, and Richard Strauss’ “Till Eulenspiegel’s lustige Streiche.”

Performance Dates: Dec. 4 – 6, 2025

Ton Koopman conducts the University of Maryland Concert Choir in Händel’s “Messiah.”

Performance Dates: Dec. 18 – 21, 2025

Gianandrea Noseda conducts The Washington Chorus in “Song of  Destiny & Fate” by Brahms, Vivaldi, Bach, and Schumann.

Performance Dates: Jan. 22 – 24, 2026

Gianandrea Noseda conducts Puccini’s “Il Trittico” with Roman Burdenko, Sabrina Gárdez, Erika Grimaldi, Agnieszka Rehlis, and
Jonathan Tetelman.

Performance Dates: April 29 & May 1, 2026

James Gaffigan conducts Renée Fleming in “Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene” which features songs and arias by Handel, Nico Muhly, Maria Schneider, Villa-Lobos, Björk, Burt Bacharach/Hal David, and others. The program also includes Charles Ives’ Three Places in New England and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring – Suite.

Performance Dates: May 29 – 30, 2026

The season concludes with Karen Kamensek conducting Johan Dalene and Zachary James in music by Barber, Glass, and Gershwin.

Performance Dates: June 12 – 13, 2026
