
MasterVoices Announces 2026-27 Season Featuring Erin Morley, Jakub Józef Orliński
By David SalazarMasterVoices has announced its 2026-27 season, the ensemble’s 85th anniversary year.
First up is a Händel Celebration at Carnegie Hall featuring soprano Erin Morley and countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński. The program will draw from “Samson,” “Theodora,” “Semele,” “Giulio Cesare,” and additional works, concluding with an audience singalong of the Hallelujah Chorus from “Messiah.” Ted Sperling conducts.
Performance Date: Dec. 15, 2026
Next up is the “VOX: American Voices Opera Lab,” a program dedicated to presenting excerpts of new grand operas by contemporary American composers. The evening will showcase four works in progress in concert presentations of 20 to 30 minutes each, performed with soloists, full orchestra and chorus. VOX is presented in collaboration with American Composers Orchestra, Beth Morrison Projects, the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, Manhattan School of Music and Mannes School of Music.
Performance Date: April 1, 2027
The season closes with “Hammerstein’s Broadway” at David Geffen Hall’s Wu Tsai Theater at Lincoln Center. The tribute to lyricist and librettist Oscar Hammerstein II is timed to the 100th anniversary of the Broadway premiere of “Show Boat” and feature selections from “Oklahoma!,” “South Pacific,” “Show Boat,” and “Carmen Jones,” alongside songs from lesser-known works including “Very Warm for May,” “Sweet Adeline,” “The Desert Song,” and “Allegro.” A cast of Broadway soloists, to be announced, will join the MasterVoices Chorus and Orchestra. Ted Sperling conducts.

Among additional engagements, the MasterVoices Chorus will participate in the Joe Hisaishi Film Music Concert at Radio City Music Hall with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s on August 11-17, and will appear in two free outdoor performances presented by the Ukrainian Museum on September 25 and 26 in celebration of that institution’s 50th anniversary.
