Masabane Cecilia Rangwanash, Asmik Grigorian & Barbara Hannigan Lead London Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-24 Season

The London Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2023-24 season. For this article, here is a look at the vocal performances.

Barbara Hannigan and Fleur Barron lead a concert that includes music by Haydn, Strauss, Ligeti, Luigi Nono, and Claude Vivier.

Performance Dates: Sept. 14 & 17, 2023

Igor Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella” will be conducted by Barbara Hannigan. The concert will also include Fleur Barron, Charles Sy, and Antoin Herrera-López Kessel. 

Performance Dates: Sept. 20, 2023

Igor Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella,” Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No 64, and Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movements will be conducted by Barbara Hannigan. The concert includes Fleur Barron, Charles Sy, and Antoin Herrera-López Kessel.

Performance Date: Sept. 21, 2023

Catriona Morison and Malcolm Martineau performs a recital of Brahms, Strauss, and Mahler.

Performance Date: Oct. 13, 2023

Lucy Crowe performs a Baroque concert.

Performance Date: Nov. 2, 2023

André J. Thomas conducts the London Symphony Chorus and LSO Community Voices featuring music by Robert Ray, André J Thomas, Florence Price, and Donald Lawrence.

Performance Date: Nov. 5, 2023

Leoš Janáček’s “Jenůfa” will be conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and will star Asmik Grigorian, Katarina Karnéus, Aleš Briscein, Nicky Spence, Jan Martiník Starek, and Carole Wilson.

Performance Dates: Jan. 11 & 14, 2024

Felix Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” will be conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano and star Masabane Cecilia Rangwanash, Dame Sarah Connolly, Allan Clayton, and Gerald Finley.

Performance Dates: Jan. 28 & 31, 2024

Clara Mouriz performs Spanish Connections.

Performance Date: Feb. 16, 2024

Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No 3 will be conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas and will star Alice Coote.

Performance Dates: May 12 & 16, 2024

Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No 3 and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana will star Christina Poulitsi, Sunnyboy Dladla, and Elliot Madore. Gianandrea Noseda conducts.

Performance Dates: June 23 & 25, 2024
