Maryland Opera Announces Summer 2026 Concert Series
By David SalazarMaryland Opera has announced a summer concert series at Boordy Vineyards in Hydes, Maryland.
The company will present “First Fridays at Boordy Vineyards,” a series of five outdoor concerts running from June through October.
The 75-minute programs will feature selections from opera, operetta, and Broadway, performed by internationally acclaimed vocalists and young emerging artists. Maryland Opera Artistic Director James Harp will accompany all performances on piano.
“These marvelous al fresco programs at gorgeous Boordy Vineyards have become a signature of Maryland Opera,” said Harp, per an official press release. “Internationally renowned opera singers will share their exciting and inspiring artistry in the great outdoors and, as always, we will continue to feature our young Opera Camp alumni as well, offering a view of the glorious present and future of Opera. The spectacular evening backdrop of the summer sky provides the ‘theater’ for our arias, and the immersion of our devoted audiences completes the grand opera experience.”
Performances are scheduled for June 5, July 3, August 7, September 4, and October 2, each beginning at 7:00 p.m.
