Maryland Opera Announces 2026-27 Season

Maryland Opera has announced its 2026-27 season.

First up is “The Student Prince,” which will be presented in a semi-staged showcase with chorus and orchestra.

Performance Date: Nov. 14, 2026


Then comes “Sounds of the Season,” the company’s holiday program, which includes the Act one finale of Puccini’s “La Bohème.”

Performance Dates: Dec. 11 & 13, 2026


This year’s “New Voices in Opera” highlights Latiné/Hispanic stories and creators. The program includes “A Way Forward” by composer Laura Jobin-Acosta and librettist José Gabino Alba Rodríguez, and “¡Chicanísima!” by composer and librettist Carla Lucero. Jarrod Lee serves as New Voice Program Director. Local university voice students will also perform a mini-recital of works by other Latiné/Hispanic composers.

Performance Date: March 13, 2027


The season ends with a fully-staged “La traviata.”
