Martina Serafin & Roberta Mantegna to Headline Opera Hong Kong’s ‘Il Trovatore’

Opera Hong Kong is set to present Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” at the Grand Theatre at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

The production, which opens on May 11 and runs through the 14th, will feature a production by Enrico Castiglione with two different casts.

In the role of Leonora, audiences will hear Martina Serafin for two shows and Roberta Mantegna for the other two. In the title role, Marco Berti and Irakli Kakhidze will alternate. Simone Piazzola and Mario Cassi will take turns as the Conte di Luna, while Marianne Cornetti and Guang Yang will share the role of Azucena.

Daniel Giulianini will be Ferrando with other cast members including Ashley Chui, Christy Li, Samuel Huang, Wesley Lam, Lam Kwok Ho, and Jeff Chan.

Devan Savic conducts the production. Alex Tam is the Chorus Director.
