Martina Serafín, Daniela Tabernig, Valeriano Lanchas Headline Teatro Julio Mario Santo Domingo’s ‘Tosca’

The Teatro Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá, Colombia is set to present Puccini’s “Tosca” on Dec. 17-19, 2021. 

The showcase represents the first time in 24 years that the famed Italian work is performed in Colombia. The co-production withLa Compañía Estable will be conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Principal Conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and directed by Pedro Salazar. The performance will also feature Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, the youth choirs of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá and the Compañía de Danza del Teatro Mayor.  

On Dec. 17 and 19, audiences will hear an all-European cast starring Austrian soprano Martina Serafín, English tenor Adam Smith, and Dutch bass-baritone Bastiaan Everink. The December 18 performance will feature a Latin American cast headlined by Colombian bass-baritone Valeriano Lanchas, Argentine soprano Daniela Tabernig,  and tenor César Gutiérrez.

All three performances will feature Colombians Jacobo Ochoa, Manuel Franco, and Hyalmar Mitrotti.
