Marsha Thompson, Todd Thomas & Keith Phares Headline Charlottesville Opera’s 2023 Season

The Charlottesville Opera has announced the casts and operas for its 2023 season.

The season will include Frank Loesser’s “Guys and Dolls” and Giacomo Puccini’s “Tosca,” two works never performed by the company.

“We are excited to present these classic productions for our audience here in Charlottesville. Both shows exemplify what we all love about musical storytelling, great characters, and captivating melodies,” said General Director Dr. Leanne Clement in an official press statement.

The “Guys and Dolls” production will include Keith Phares as Sky Masterson and Elise Quagliata as Sister Sarah Brown. The cast also includes Chauncey Packer and Cree Carico with Season Conductor Brian DeMaris and Director Linda Brovsky.

Performance Dates: June 23, 24, & 25, 2023

Charlottesville Opera will conclude its season with Puccini’s “Tosca,” which will take the stage with Todd Thomas as Baron Scarpia, Adam Diegel as Cavaradossi, and soprano Marsha Thompson in the title role. Brian DeMaris conducts a production by Alek Shrader.

Performance Dates: July 14 & 16, 2023
