Marquee TV to Present Verdi & Puccini Classics This July

Marquee TV has announced that it will be presenting two operas on its platform this month.

Both works, classics from the standard repertory, can be viewed on Marquee TV’s official website.

It begins with Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” in a production from Glyndebourne. The opera is conducted by Omer Meir Wellber and features Olga Busuioc in the title role. She is joined by Joshua Guerrero in the role of Pinkerton. The showcase also includes performances from the London Philharmonic Orchestra and The Glyndebourne Chorus.

Annilese Miskimmon directed the production.

Streaming Date: July 4, 2020

The company will then present a production of Verdi’s early masterpiece “Nabucco” from the Arena di Verona. The work is presented in a production by Arnaud Bernard which transposes the action of the biblical opera to 1848 and the times of Risorgimento.

The opera is conducted by Daniel Oren and stars Susanna Branchini as Abigaile.
