Starting on Saturday, May 23, 2020, Marquee TV will be streaming the Arena di Verona’s production of Rossini’s masterpiece “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” with an all-star cast.

The production, from a few seasons back, starred Leo Nucci in the titular role as the barber Figaro with Nino Machaidze as Rosina. Dmitry Korchak starred as the Count Almaviva while Ferruccio Furlanetto took on the role of Don Basilio and Carlo Lepore was Bartolo.

Daniel Oren conducted the performance.

This is the latest of several operas that Marquee TV is streaming on its online service. The organization has been a major player during the COVID-19 crisis, partnering with several prominent opera companies to present unique opera experiences.

The company has presented performances from such organizations as the Royal Opera House, The Bolshoi, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Opernhaus Zürich, the Glyndebourne Festival, and the Teatro Real de Madrid, among others.
