Marlon Daniel Appointed Artistic Director & Conductor at Universität Münster

The Universität Münster Musikhochschule Orchestra has announced Marlon Daniel as its Artistic Director and Conductor.

Daniel has held positions as Associate Conductor of the Praga Sinfonietta, Principal Guest Conductor of the Pazardzhik Symphony Orchestra, and the inaugural Music Director for the Colour of Music Festival. He has guest lecturered with Tafelmusik, OperaAmerica, Lunigiana International Music Festival, and at Columbia and Yale Universities. He also serves as the Artistic and Music Director of the Festival International de Musique Saint-Georges, Music Director of Ensemble du Monde, Associate Conductor of Florida Grand Opera, and the Founder and Music Director of ACYO (All –
Caribbean Youth Orchestra).

At his first general meeting in his new role Daniel said, “I am honored and privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of this esteemed German University. I feel that the Universität Münster has welcomed me with open arms! I plan to bring all my talent and experience to lead the ensemble to greater heights by supporting the students, collaborating with faculty and staff and engaging with the community in a positive way.”

Closing out its 100th-year anniversary season finale, Daniel will lead the Musikhochschule Orchestra in a concert featuring American soprano Jennifer Forni. Together they present the works of Beethoven, Smetana, and Strauss. The concert is held at the Hörsaalgebäude Schlossplatz on June 23.
