Markus Werba, Leo Nucci & June Anderson Lead Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s Streams

The “Teatro Digitale” dell’Opera di Roma has announced operas streaming from June 9-21, 2020.

The first stream will be the ballet “Marco Spada” with Rudolf Nureyev in the title role. The performance also stars Ghislaine Thesmar, Lucia Colognato, Michaël Denard, and Alfredo Rainò. The ballet features music by Daniel François Esprit Auber and is conducted Alberto Ventura.

Streaming Dates: June 9-11, 2020

Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” will be presented in a production by Robert Carsen. James Conlon conducts the production, which stars Markus Werba in Onegin, Maria Bayankina as Tatiana, Yulia Matochkina as Olga, Saimir Pirgu as Lenski, and John Relyea as Gremin.

Streaming Dates: June 12-14, 2020

Verdi’s “Rigoletto” will be shown in a production from 1991 conducted by Bruno Bartoletti and directed by Silvia Cassini. The cast includes Leo Nucci in the title role,  Vincenzo La Scola as the Duca di Mantova, June Anderson as Gilda, Franco De Grandis as Sparafucile, and Viorica Cortez as Maddalena.

Streaming Dates: June 16-18, 2020

The final stream of the series will be a 1980 performance of “Giselle.” The ballet stars Carla Fracci and Rudolf Nureyev with conductor Alberto Ventura leading the work.
