Marion Cotillard Joins Teatro Real’s ‘Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher’

The Teatro Real has announced a cast change for its upcoming production of Honegger’s “Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher.”

The company announced that Oscar winner Marion Cotillard will take on the title role replacing the originally announced Irene Escolar.

The new production by Àlex Ollé will also star Sébastien Dutrieux, Sylvia Schwartz, Elena Copons, Enkelejda Shkoza, Charles Workman, and Torben Jügens. Juanjo Mena conducts the oratorio.

The evening will also include “La damoiselle élue” by Claude Debussy with soloists Camilla Tilling and Enkelejda Shkosa.

Cotillard is an Oscar-winning actress who has appeared in such films as “La Vie en Rose,” “Two Days One Night,” The Immigrant” and “Rust and Bone.”She has previously performed the Honegger Oratorio with the New York Philharmonic and the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC).
