Marina Rebeka Receives Major French Prize

Marina Rebeka has received the Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

The soprano took to social media and said, “Yesterday night I was honored with this prestigious award at Latvian National Opera by Manuel Lafont Rapnouil, Ambassadeur de France en Lettonie and in the presence of President of Latvian Republic Edgars Rinkēvičs. This came at the end of the second of the two solo concerts promoted in Latvia by Zagara Fonds. Singing at ‘home’ is a a gift which filled my heart with joy and emotion.”

The soprano received the award for her creative works that have made significant contributions to the field of art and literature or who have promoted the prestige of art and literature in France and elsewhere in the world.

Rebeka is a well-known soprano who has performed all over the world and has won such prizes as the International Classical Music Award (ICMA), Diapason d’Or, and the Diamant from France’s Opéra Magazine. She is the co-founder of Prima Classics.
