Marina Rebeka has canceled her upcoming recital at the Usedomer Festival on Sept. 17 due to illness.

The soprano took to social media and said, “Dear friends and music enthusiasts, It is with a heavy heart that I must share this news with you. Unfortunately, due to illness, I am unable to perform as planned at the Usedomer festival on September 17. I had been eagerly looking forward to sharing this special recital with you all. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and deeply regret not being able to be there. Your support means everything to me, and I promise to return to the stage as soon as I am able. Wishing you all beautiful music and sending my gratitude for your understanding.”

Rebeka returns to the stage for a new production of “Aida” at the Berlin State Opera on Oct. 3. This season she is also set to perform “Medea” in Berlin.
