Marin Alsop & Louis Langrée to Return to Prague Summer Nights: Young Artists Music Festival 2027

Classical Movements has announced that conductors Marin Alsop and Louis Langrée will return to Prague Summer Nights: Young Artists Music Festival 2027.

The festival, which runs from June 19 to July 19, 2027, in Prague and Tábor, Czech Republic, will feature Alsop and Langrée as guest conductors with the Prague Summer Nights Orchestra. The festival will include three orchestral performances with Langrée conducting one in Tábor. The second show features The Washington Chorus performing Mozart’s “Requiem” under Eugene Rogers at Smetana Hall and for the third, at Smetana Hall, will feature Alsop and the world premiere of a newly commissioned fanfare style work by Czech composer Sylvie Bodorová.

The opera programming includes fully staged productions of “The Magic Flute” and “Le nozze di Figaro” at Prague’s Estates Theatre. An opera scenes performance at Divadlo Oskara Nedbala in Tábor will feature excerpts from Czech, Italian, German and French operas.

Prague Summer Nights accepts up to 125 students annually, including emerging opera singers, instrumentalists, conductors, coaches, stage directors and arts administrators. Participants receive training, masterclasses and coaching from faculty and mentors affiliated with Juilliard, New England Conservatory, Peabody, Oberlin, Northwestern, Manhattan School of Music and Prague’s National Theatre, alongside members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Czech Philharmonic.
