On Feb. 26, 2023, during a performance at the Mariinsky Theatre, a chorus member was injured by the set.

The emergency situation occurred on the New Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre during a performance of “The Snow Maiden,” when the scenery was being changed.

The theater said, “One of the artists of the choir received a bruise on her head on an element of soft scenery. The artist was immediately taken to the Mariinsky hospital, where she underwent a thorough examination and a CT scan, after which she was released home.”

The theater added that the artist is in good health. There is an ongoing investigation currently underway according to the Russian press.
