The Mariinsky Theatre has announced changes to its programming for the month of October.

The company noted that Anna Netrebko’s anniversary concert has been moved from Oct. 1 to Oct. 5, 2021.  As a result, the company will present a concert by pianist Denis Matsuev accompanied by the Mariinsky Orchestra under the direction of Valery Gergiev. The program will include Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Anton Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony.

The company stated that it apologized for the inconvenience caused and that all tickets for the original Netrebko concert would be valid on Oct. 5.

Netrebko is set to perform alongside Valery Gergiev in a concert celebrating her career at the Mariinsky Theatre. The program is set to be announced.

The soprano recently celebrated her 50th birthday with a gala at the Kremlin Palace alongside Rolando Villazon, Placido Domingo, Ildar Abdrazakov, Elena Maximova, and Luca Salsi, among others.
