The Ópera de La Palmas has announced a cast change for its production of “Manon Lescaut.”

The company noted that Martina Serafin will take over the title role replacing María José Siri, who has contracted tracheitis.

Serafin recently sang the title role of “Tosca” at the Teatro Mayor de Bogota and the title role of “Cecilia” at the Teatro Cagliari. Later this season she is set to sing the title role of “Tristan und Isolde” at the Wiener Staatsoper

Serafin joins a cast that includes Murat Karahan, Youngjun Park, Jeroboám Tejera, and César Morales. Antonello Allemandi conducts the production by Carlo Antonio De Lucia.

“Manon Lescaut” will be performed on Feb. 22, 24, and 26, 2022.

Siri returns to the stage for “Tosca” in Trieste.
