Maria José Siri Announces New Roles
By Francisco SalazarSoprano Maria José Siri has announced a number of new roles that she is planning on performing.
In an interview with L’Arena, the Uruguayan soprano noted that she has a top-secret Puccini role in the works and she is set to premiere a new production of “Adriana Lecouvreur” and “Manon Lescaut.” She also revealed that she will add Lady Macbeth to her repertoire as well as the rarely performed “La Gioconda.” The sopranos also noted that her biggest dream is Elvira in “Ernani.”
The soprano recently performed a production of “Nabucco” at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. She is set to return to the Arena di Verona in 2021 for “Aida,” “Pagliacci” and “Cavalleria Rusticana.”
She also headlines a new production of “Adriana Lecouvreur” in Florence.
