“Maria by Callas” is set to make its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The documentary will be part of TIFF Docs sidebar, which was announced on August 9, 2018. The documentary by Tom Volf will make its North American premiere on Sept.  10, 2018 and will be in the same section as such high profile documentary as Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 11/9” Werner Herzog’s “Meeting Gorbachev,” Frederick Wiseman’s “Monrovia, Indiana,” and Errol Morris’ “American Dharma.”

Per the documentary’s logline, “Maria by Callas” gives fresh insights into one of the great talents of the 20th century via recently rediscovered writings and interviews with the Greek-American soprano.

Sony Pictures Classics picked up North American rights for the film and is expected to release the film on Oct. 26, 2018.
