Maria Brea Joins Athlone Artists Roster

Athlone Artists has announced that Venezuelan soprano Maria Brea has joined its roster.

The soprano, who completed in the 2021 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, will be represented by Miguel Rodriguez, founder of Athlone Artists.

“There is always a team that helps you through life,” Brea stated in an official press release. “Miguel is so kind and organized. As a part of the Latinx community, we begin with a strong connection, with similar values. I’m very excited and grateful to begin this next step.”

The Caracas native, a finalist in the 2022 Paris Competition, studied at the Manhattan School of Music and did her master’s degree at the Juilliard School. She has performed with a number of major companies including Wolf Trap Opera, New Camerata Opera, and Opera Tampa where she participated in the world premiere of Anton Coppola’s “Lady Swanwhite.” Of her performance as Olga in Giordano’s “Fedora,” OperaWire stated that she had“seemingly unfettered vocal abilities.”
