Maria Brea & Celia Castro Headline North / South Consonance’s 2023 Season

The North / South Consonance has announced its 2023 season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.

It all kicks off with a New Year Celebration featuring soprano Maria Brea and violinist Arthur Moeller. Max Lifchitz conducts a program featuring music by Carmel Curiel, Odaline de la Martinez, Federico Ermirio, and Max Lifchitz. The showcase will take place at Chirst & St. Stephen’s Church in New York City.

Performance Date: Jan. 12, 2023

Soprano Celia Castro will headline a concert at the National Opera Center conducted by Lifchitz and also starring flautist Lisa Hanen. The showcase will feature music by Brian Banks, Carlos Chavez, Manuel Enriquez, Max Lifchitz, Eduardo Mata, and Manuel M. Ponce.

Performance Date: May 4, 2023

The New York Virtuoso Singers will headline “Sorrel Hays Rediscovered.” The concert, which will take place at the DiMenna Cneter, will feature pianist Huizi Zhang, and conductors Max Lifchitz and Harold Rosenbaum.

Performance Date: June 6, 2023
