Oper Frankfurt has announced that it will reopen on May 29, 2020.
With regulations starting to be lifted, Oper Frankfurt stated “Intensive work is being done on the creation of a hygiene concept in order to be able to offer viewers and artists a safe theater evening in the current situation.”
The theater will open with a recital by Swedish soprano Maria Bengtsson alongside pianist Sarah Tysman and ensemble member Cecelia Hall with members of the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra. The program will include music by R. Strauss.
The company announced that in order to maintain the performance as safe as possible and in order to maintain social distancing, the concert will only allow 100 spectators. Audience members will also have to wear a mouth-nose cover until they take their seat, and they will have to give contact information.
