Maria Agresta To Recieve Premio Luigi Illica

Maria Agresta has been awarded the Premio Luigi Illica from the Comunale Castell’Arquato.

The soprano received the award for professional contributions to the opera world and will be handed to the soprano on July 24.

The award has been given since 1961 and has celebrated the artistic excellence of many individuals from Castell’Arquato.

Agresta is currently performing “Tosca” at the Teatro Real de Madrid and is slated to return to the Teatro Regio di Parma this fall. She will also return to the Metropolitan Opera for “La Bohème” and will open the season at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli in a new production of “Otello.”

Agresta is also scheduled to perform at the Teatro alla Scala, Opera de Monte-Carlo, and Bilbao Opera.
