‘Manon’ Performance Canceled at Opéra National de Paris

The performance of Massenet’s “Manon,” which was scheduled for today, Feb. 26 at the Opéra National de Paris, has been abruptly canceled due to the technical reasons, according to the official statement on the company’s website.

The cast for the opera, which was written by Meilhac and Gille, included Amina Edris in the title role, Stephen Costello as Des Grieux, and Ludovic Tézier as Lescaut. Other cast members included Roberto Tagliavini, Rodolphe Briand, Pierre Doyen, Cassandre Berthon, Alix Le Saux, Jeanne Ireland, Philippe Rouillon, Julien Joguet, Laurent Laberdesque.

Dan Ettinger was signed on to conduct the production by Vincent Huguet.

“Manon” is still scheduled to be back to the stage at the Opéra Bastille on February 29, 2020.
