Mannes Opera to Present ‘Lysistrata, or The Nude Goddess’

The school will showcase the work for free and will be open to the public with registration. Performances will be held on March 8 and 9, 2024 at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, New York, N.Y.
The cast will feature Alexandra Kzeski in the title role, Allen Pearcy Galeana, Marcella Astore, Brianna Dulock, Mary-Hollis Hundley, Enes Pektas, Wei Chen, Brea Marshall, Ping Gu, Katherine Li, Lindsey Kanaga, Claire Coven, Colin Safley, Dmitry Mironov, Himanshu Barot, Samuel Rachmuth, and Zhedong Ren.
“Lysistrata, or The Nude Goddess” is inspired by Aristophanes’ comedy about the women of Athens and Sparta who, embittered by the seemingly endless war between their two cities, tell their men that they will refuse them sex until the fighting stops.
