Manhattan School of Music Unveils Fall 2019 Performances

The Manhattan School of Music has announced its fall 2019 performance season which will feature a number of orchestral, musical theater, and opera showcases. For the purposes of this article, we will focus on the vocal and operatic performances.

The first major vocal showcase will be Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Fleet Street.” The production will be directed by Ted Pappas and conducted by David Loud. Performances are set for the Neidorff-Karpati Hall on 130 Claremont Avenue.

Performance Dates: Nov. 8-10, 2019

The MSM Symphony orchestra and Symphony Chorus will come together for a program of music by Strauss, Rodrigo, and Stravinsky at the Neidorff-Karpati Hall on 130 Claremont Avenue.

Performance Date: Nov. 20, 2019

Finally, the institution will showcase Mercadante’s “I Due Figaro” with Stefano Sarzani conducting and Don D. Vaughn directing. Performances are set for the Neidorff-Karpati Hall on 130 Claremont Avenue.

Performance Dates: Dec. 12-15, 2019
