Manhattan School of Music Announces 2023-24 Vocal & Opera Season

The Manhattan School of Music has unveiled its 2023-24 vocal and opera season.

The company will present the chamber opera “Evidence of Things Not Seen.” Carleen Graham is the director and dramaturg while Jeanne-Minette Cilliers will be the music director and vocal coach.

Performance Dates: Oct. 22 & 23, 2023

Audiences will get a chance to check out Opera Scenes from the graduate students.

Performance Dates: Oct. 26 & 27, 2023

Next up is “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” George Manahan conducts and John de los Santos directs.

Performance Dates: Nov. 16 & 19, 2023

The MSM Symphony Orchestra will present Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Five Mystical Songs.” Daniela Candillari conducts and James C. Harris is the soloist.

Performance Dates: Nov. 21, 2023

There will be another edition of the opera scenes to kick off the winter season.

Djordje conducts “La Finta Giardiniera.” Jennifer Williams directs.

Performance Dates: Dec. 11-14, 2023

The MSM Symphony Orchestra and MSM Opera Theatre will present Act one of Massenet’s “Cendrillon” in concert. Danielle Jagelski conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 21 & 22, 2024

Chun-Wei Kang leads a production of Pauline Viardot’s “Cendrillon.”

Performance Dates: April 3 & 4, 2024

John de los Santos directs “Der Kaiser von Atlantis.” Djordje Nesic conducts.

Performance Dates: April 9 & 10, 2024

Next up is “La Rondine,” conducted by Marcello Cormio and directed by Katherine M. Carter.

Performance Dates: April 25 & 28, 2024

Jackson McKinnon conducts “The Fairy Queen.” Felicity Stiverson directs and choreographs.

Performance Dates: May 2 & 3, 2024
