Malko Competition Announces 2024 Winners

Samuel Lee has won the 2024 Malko competition.

The South Korean conductor took home the top prize of 20,000 Euros for conducting the first movement of Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 and Nielsen’s Dance of the Cockerel.

The second prize went to Colombian Ana Maria Patiño-Osorio won the second prize of 15,000 euros and the audience prize of 1500 Euro. She also won the special youth jury prize, which was presented on stage in the Concert Hall by students from Viborg Cathedral School.

Dong Chao went home with the third prize taking home 12,000 euros.

This year’s jury was led by Fabio Luisi and included Mei-Ann Chen, Elise Båtnes, Karl-Heinz Schütz, Martin Menking, Eva Steinaa, Richard Krug, Anthony Fogg, Ilona Schmiel, and Kim Bohr.
