The Dutch National Opera has announce dits 2025-26 season.

Elena Stikhina and Natalya Romaniw star in Puccini’s “Tosca” with Joshua Guerrero and Gevorg Hakobyan. Nathalie Stutzmann conducts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 3-25, 2025

“Operetta Land” will be performed featuring music by Johann Strauss II, Jacques Offenbach, and Arthur Sullivan. Steef de Jong, Raoul Stefani, Marc Pantus, Laetitia Gerards, Elenora Hu, Frederik Bergman, Ian Castro, and Aaike Nortier.

Performance Dates: Oct. 5-23, 2025

Carlijn Metselaar’s “The Theory of Everything” will be performed featuring soloists Houda Bibouda, Elena Vink, and Jomecia Oosterwolde. Hanne van de Vrie conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 19–26, 2025 

Elena Stikhina, Allan Clayton, Nadezhda Pavlova, Andrey Zhilikhovsky, Vladislav Sulimsky, John Relyea, Gábor Bretz, and Oleksiy Palchykov star in Tchaikovsky’s “The Maid of Orleans.” Valentin Uryupin leads Dmitri Tcherniakov’s new production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12-Dec. 2, 2025

Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Ying Fang, Jerzy Butryn, Amitai Pati, and Bogdan Talos lead Bellini’s “I Capuleti e i Montecchi.” Antonino Fogliani conducts Tatjana Gürbaca’s new production.

Annemiek van Elst directs Leonard Evers’ production of “Atman!”

Claus Guth’s production of Handel’s “Semele” makes its Dutch premiere with a cast that includes Louise Alder, Jakub Józef Orliński, Jasmin White, David Portillo, Florian Boesch, Jessica Niles, and Adèle Charvet. Emmanuelle Haïm conducts.

Performance Dates: Jan. 17–29, 2026

Michael Weinius and Malin Byström lead Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” with Liang Li, Jordan Shanahan, and Irene Roberts. Tarmo Peltokoski conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 8-23, 2026

Weinberg’s “Die Passagierin” will be conducted by Adam Hickox in a new production by Tobias Kratzer. Jenny Carlstedt, Nikolai Schukoff, Sylvia D’Eramo, Gyula Orendt, and Sibylle Maria Dordel.

Performance Date: April 17-May 2, 2026

Francesco Corti conducts a new production of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” with Kirill Serebrennikov. Björn Bürger, Olga Kulchynska, Emily Pogorelc, Michael Nagl, Cecilia Molinari, and Georgy Kudrenko star.

Performance Dates: May 8–28, 2026

George Petean, Federica Lombardi, Georg Zeppenfeld, Joshua Guerrero, and Germán Olvera star in Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra.” Fabio Luisi conducts the new production Jetske Mijnssen.

Opera Forward Festival (OFF)

Michel van der Aa’s “Theory of Flames” will make its world premiere with Elena Schwarz conducting. Mary Bevan, Helen Charlston, Roderick Williams, and Julia Bullock star.

Performance Dates: March 6–22, 2026

Meriç Artaç ‘s “Requiem” will make its staged world premiere. The production will feature the New European Ensemble.

Performance Dates: March 13–21, 2026

Hannah Kendall’s “The Knife of Dawn” will be performed.

Performance Dates: March 14–18, 2026

Philip Glass’ “Les enfants terribles” will be performed by the Dutch National Opera Studio.
