Malin Byström, Fabio Sartori & Aigul Akhmetshina Lead Deutsche Oper Berlin Revamped October 2020 Slate

The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced changes to its October 2020 schedule.

The performances of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” slated for October 2, 2020; “Così fan tutte” scheduled for October 20 & 25, 2020; Verdi’s “La Traviata” scheduled for Oct. 10, 2020; Bizet’s “Carmen” slated for Oct. 16, 21 & 24, 2020; Puccini’s “Turandot” scheduled for October 3, 2020; and “Tosca” slated for October 18 & 31, 2020, have all been canceled.

The opera house has come up with the new presentations instead. Here is the look.

Events “Favourites Live I & II” will feature Valeriia Savinskaia, Arianna Manganello, Karis Tucker, Rebecca Pedersen, Ya-Chung Huang, Attilio Glaser, Patrick Cook, Philipp Jekal, Patrick Guetti, Michael Kim, Tyler Zimmerman, Meechot Marrero, Alexandra Hutton, Irene Roberts, Flurina Stucki, Robert Watson, Andrei Danilov, Dean Murphy, Markus Brück, Padraic Rowan, Joel Allison, and Byung Gil Kim.

Performance dates: Oct. 9 – 24, 2020

A concert performance of Puccini’s “Tosca” will star Malin Byström, Fabio Sartori, Roman Burdenko, Byung Gil Kim, Padraic Rowan, Andrew Dickinson, Andrew Harris, and Tyler Zimmerman. Nicholas Milton will conduct. Thomas Richter is the Chorus Master. Christian Lindhorst will lead the Children’s Chorus.

Performance date: Oct. 23, 2020

The concert performance “Best of Carmen” will spotlight Aigul Akhmetshina, Meechot Marrero, Anastasia Bickel, Elena Tsallagova, Robert Watson, Thomas Lehman, Patrick Guetti, Joel Allison, and Ya-Chung Huang. Stefan Blunier will conduct.

Performance date: Oct. 25, 2020

Finally, a concert version of Verdi’s “Falstaff” will showcase Misha Kiria, Thomas Lehman, Mingjie Lei, Andrew Dickinson, Gideon Poppe, Andrew Harris, Annette Dasch, Meechot Marrero, Arianna Manganello, and Annika Schlicht. Ivan Repusic will conduct. Jeremy Bines is the Chorus Master.

Performance dates: Oct. 30 – 31, 2020
