This week, two debut albums will dominate the headlines. There is also a DVD release of an acclaimed production. Here are our recommendations.

Overture 

Ben Bliss has released his new album “Overture” on streaming platforms including Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, and Google Play among others. The new album features music from Bernstein, Donizetti, and Mozart, among others.

Street Scene 

Bel Air releases Kurt Weill’s rarely performed work from the Teatro Real de Madrid. The new production stars Paulo Szot, Mary Bevan, Joel Prieto, Lucy Schaufer, Patricia Racette, and Jeni Bern, among many. Tim Murray conducts the production John Fulljames.

Malin Byström

The acclaim Swedish soprano releases her debut album with orchestral songs by Duparc, Berg, and Rangstrom. Byström is accompanied by  Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and conductor Stefan Solyom. The Swedish Society releases the new album.
