Maggio Musicale Fiorentino to Stream ‘Linda di Chamonix’

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is set to stream “Linda di Chamonix” on Jan. 15.

The Italian theater’s superintendent Alexander Pereira announced that the opera will be filmed thanks to the collaboration of the Maggio with Naxos, Operabase, and Takt1. Audiences will be able to view the broadcast on the digital platform for classical music Takt1 (www.takt1.com) and on the Maggio website at 8 p.m.

The opera is set to star Jessica Pratt in the title role, Francesco Demuro, Michele Pertusi, Teresa Iervolino, Vittorio Prato, Fabio Capitanucci, Marina De Liso, and Antonio Garès. Michele Gamba conducts the new production by Cesare Lievi.

“Linda di Chamounix” was originally set to be performed on Dec. 23, 27, 29, 2020, and Jan. 3, 5, 2021, but was postponed due to limitations set by the health department in Italy. As a result, the opera will be rescheduled at a later date.
