Maggio Musicale Fiorentino to Stream Haydn’s ‘The Creation’

By Francisco Salazar

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has announced that it will stream Haydn’s “The Creation” on Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. local time.

The stream will showcase soloists Michael Volle, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, Veta Pilipenko, and Maximilian Schmitt conducted by Zubin Mehta.

The Italian theater will stream it on the company’s social media channels and on Agenzia Ansa’s YouTube page. The concert will be performed without an audience.

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is the latest theater to stream performances without audiences following the Teatro San Carlo, the Donizetti Festival, Teatro la Fenice, and Opera Comique. The Teatro alla Scala has also announced that it will present a special Dec. 7 inauguration concert via streaming.
