Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Cancels Final Two Performances of ‘Fidelio’

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has canceled the final two performances of “Fidelio.”

The company announced that the final two performances scheduled for Jan. 5 and 7, 2022 would no longer be taking place and that as a result, ticketholders will either get refunds or will be able to change their tickets for another date between Dec. 23 and Jan. 2, when performances will be held.

Audience members will also have the option to change their tickets for another production.

“Fidelio” is set to star Lise Davidsen as Leonore, Klaus Florian Vogt, Tomasz Konieczny, Birger Radde, Franz-Josef Selig, Luca Bernard,
and Francesca Aspromonte. Zubin Mehta is set to conduct the new production by Matthias Hartmann.

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino recently presented productions of “Madama Butterfly,” “Falstaff,” “Rigoletto,” “La Traviata,” and “Linda di Chamonix.”
