By Francisco Salazar

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has canceled the final performance of Giordano’s “Siberia.”

In a statement, the company said, “We inform the audience that the Teatro del Maggio is unfortunately forced to cancel the last performance of the opera ‘Siberia’ by Umberto Giordano, scheduled on 24 July 2021.”

As a result, the company is offering the possibility of converting the ticket relating to the performance on July 24, for another date. Tickets will also be reimbursed in the event that an audience member is unable to attend.

No reasoning was given behind the cancelation.

”Siberia” is set open on July 7 and will Star Sonya Yoncheva, George Petean, and Giorgi Sturua.
