Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Announces Date Change for ‘Madama Butterfly’

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has announced a date change for its final performance of Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.”

The company noted that the final showcase of the run scheduled for Dec. 19 has been changed to Dec. 22, 2021.

The new production is set to open on Dec. 9, 2021 and will be directed by Chiara Muti. Francesco Ivan Ciampa will conduct the production which is set to star Svetlana Aksenova, Sergei Skorokhodov, Alessandro Luongo, and Laura Verrecchia.

The cast will also include Alessio Cacciamani, Paolo Antognetti, Francesca Cucuzza, André Courville, Francesco Samuele Venuti, Alfonso Zambuto, Nicolò Ayroldi, Diego Barretta, Elena Bazzo, Chiara Chisu, Elena Cavini, Ramona Gabriela Peter, Nadia Pirazzini, and Thalida Marina Fogarasi.

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino recently opened with a new production of “La Traviata” and is set to revive productions of “Linda di Chamonix” and “Rigoletto.”
