Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Announces Cast Change for Performance of ‘La Traviata’

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has announced a cast change for its extraordinary performance of Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

The company said that Nadezhda Pavlova will sing the role of Violetta replacing Aida Garifullina who was originally announced.

Pavlova has performed at the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Kölner Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, and Konzerthaus Vienna. Her repertoire includes “La Traviata,” Lucia di Lammermoor,” “Don Giovanni,” “Rigoletto” and “Ariadne auf Naxos.”

The soprano is set to join a cast that includes Francesco Meli and Amartuvshin Enkhbat. Zubin Mehta conducts the production Davide Livermore production. Stefania Grazioli directs the revival.

“La Traviata” is set to be performed on March 30, 2023.
