Maggio Musicale Cancels Two Performances of ‘Lo Sposo di Tre e Marito di Nessuna’ Due to COVID-19

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has canceled the first two performances of Cherubini’s “Lo sposo di tre e marito di nessuna.”

The company noted that due to positive COVID cases in the cast of the production, the opera house was forced to suspend performances on Jan. 22 and 24.

As a result, the work will open on Feb. 4 and will also be performed on Feb. 6 and 8 at the Sala Zubin Mehta.

The company will inform ticket holders in order to change or refund tickets.

Diego Fasolis conducts the production by Cesare Lievi. The cast will include Sara Blanch, Ruzil Gatin, Fabio Capitanucci, Arianna Vendittelli, Alessio Arduini, Benedetta Torre, and Giulio Mastrototaro.

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino recently presented a new production of “Fidelio,” “Die Fledermaus” and is set to present “L’Amico Fritz.”
