Maestro Michael Christie Joins Forces With Civic Orchestra of Chicago

Maestro Michael Christie will work as guest conductor with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

Christie will lead a performance that features music from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” “Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” Argento’s “The Aspern Papers,” Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment,” and Berlioz’s “The Corsair.

Among the singers that will perform are Mathilda Edge, soprano; Emily Pogorelc, soprano; Kayleigh Decker, mezzo-soprano; Kathleen Felty, mezzo-soprano; Lauren Decker, contralto; Eric Ferring, tenor; Mario Rojas, tenor; Christopher Kenney, baritone; Ricardo José Rivera, baritone; David Weigel, bass-baritone; and Anthony Reed, bass. They are all members of the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Ryan Opera Center.

“The tremendous artistic level and infectious enthusiasm of these instrumental and vocal artists makes this varied program a particular joy for everyone involved,” Christie said in a press release.

Christie recently worked with the Lyric Opera of Chicago on its production of “La Traviata.”
