Madison Lyric Stage to Present ‘Schwanengesang’

Madison Lyric Stage is set to perform present Franz Schubert’s “Schwanengesang” on Feb. 17.

The one-night-only event is set to star Tenor Marc Deaton and pianist Kelly Horsted performing Schubert’s final work – his “swan song.” The old lore that swans sing a beautiful song just before death has a long pedigree in Western thought, and this 90-minute collection of 14 songs marks Schubert’s final great contribution to classical music.

The concert will be held at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Society.

This season, Madison Lyric Stage is also scheduled to present “Elektra” and “Amhal and the Night Visitors.”
