Madison Lyric Stage to Present ‘From Broadway to the Met’ On Sept. 27

Madison Lyric Stage is set to showcase a concert “From Broadway to the Met” at the Guilford Performing Arts Festival in Madison, Connecticut on Sept. 27, 2019. 

The performance will feature members of the company’s Emerging Artists Program. 

The program will include a wide range of pieces from Broadway and the opera world. Marc Deaton and Jacob Boergesson will take on the duet from Bizet’s “The Pearl Fishers,” while Allison Waggener, Allison Lindsay, and Sarah Himmelstein will perform the final trio from Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier.” Lindsay and Himmelstein will also perform the evening prayer from “Hansel and Gretel” while Waggener and Deaton will take on the love duet from “Madama Butterfly.” 

Additionally, the performers will also perform highlights from “Phantom of the Opera,” “Parade,” “ Sunday in the Park With George,” and “Pippin.” Other performers on the evening include John Johmann and Lindsay Botticello.  

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Guilford Performing Arts Festival and to provide this free concert to Shoreline audiences,” said Marc Deaton, artistic director of Madison Lyric Stage, in a press release.  “We are also proud to present young professionals from our Emerging Artists Program.  Madison Lyric Stage is committed to training the next generation of musical theater and opera artists, and we are excited to provide them with this wonderful performance opportunity.”
