Madison Lyric Stage to Perform ‘Sweeney Todd’

Madison Lyric Stage will present Stephen Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd.”

Performances, which re set to take place on June 9 through 19, will be performed at the brand-new deluxe tent on the grounds of Madison’s Deacon John Grave House.

The production will star Marc Deaton in the title role and Val Moranto as Mrs. Lovett. Deaton also directs and Kelly Horsted serves as music director.

The cast is rounded out by Ralph Buonocore as the Judge, Rebecca Ellis as the Beggar Woman, Alexis Kurtz as Johanna, Sonny Capaccio as Anthony, Matt Landry-McWilliams as Tobias, Allison Lindsay as Pirelli, and Daniel Kamalic as the Beadle.

The production follows Madison Lyric Stage’s ” “The Seven Deadly Sins” and “Curlew River” double bill. The company is also set to perform Stephen Schwartz’s musical “Pippin,” and Edward Albee’s play “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” in September.
